Plagiarism Policy
The Economics, Business, Management, & Accounting Journal (Ebisma) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and all submitted manuscripts must be free from unethical content duplication. This policy outlines our approach to detecting and handling plagiarism.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting another person's work or ideas as your own, either with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying of text from another source without quotation marks and proper citation.
- Paraphrasing or rephrasing someone else’s work without proper attribution.
- Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper acknowledgment.
- Submitting work that is not the author’s own (including fabricated or purchased manuscripts).
- Self-plagiarism (duplicate publication) by reusing one’s own previously published work without citation.
- Submitting a manuscript that has been published or is under review elsewhere.
Plagiarism Screening and Acceptable Similarity
- All submitted manuscripts will be screened for similarity and plagiarism using Turnitin/Plagiarism Checker X.
- The maximum acceptable similarity index is 25% (excluding references and bibliography).
- Manuscripts that exceed this threshold will be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejected outright.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are expected to ensure that their work is original and that all sources are appropriately cited. Specifically, authors must avoid duplicate submissions and prior publication conflicts, and obtain permission for copyrighted material when necessary.
By enforcing this policy, the Economics, Business, Management, & Accounting Journal (Ebisma) aims to uphold high ethical standards and support the advancement of credible academic research.
