Analisa Peluang dan Ancaman/Tantangan Perdagangan Sektor Tekstil: Studi Kasus Daya Saing Ekspor Indonesia dan Vietnam di Asia Menggunakan Pendekatan RCA

Abstract

The textile industry is an important sector that contributes to economic growth and export performance in Asia. This study aims to analyze and compare the export competitiveness of Indonesia and Vietnam using the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) approach. A quantitative method with a comparative descriptive design was employed using secondary data on textile exports classified under HS 50–63 obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), UN Comtrade, and the World Bank. The analysis was conducted by calculating the RCA index for each commodity group. The results show that Indonesia has a comparative advantage in the upstream sector, particularly textile raw materials under HS 50–55, with RCA values greater than one. In contrast, Vietnam demonstrates stronger competitiveness in the downstream sector, especially in apparel products under HS 61–62 and other value-added textile products. These findings reflect differences in the industrial structures of the two countries. The study concludes that industrial downstreaming, production efficiency improvement, and value chain strengthening are necessary to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s textile exports in the international market.
